Happy Tanabata! Have some nice (and/or silly) things.

・At the night junior high school, learning "headache," "stomachache" and so on in English class. "先生! What about 'heart'?" from one of the elderly Korean ladies. "Can you have a heartache?" "Um, yes, sure. Or a heartbreak." "Oh, like Elvis," with great satisfaction. The teacher, a brisk Japanese woman in her early twenties, looked puzzled, and all the other ajummas laughed.

・From yaaurens' Shakespeare reading, "I have no other than a woman's reason / I think him so, because I think him so." The problems are obvious but I still have times I want to say this now and then.

・A mixed Chinese-Taiwanese-English sentence from my not!niece when she was a bit younger: 妈咪，你看那边，怎么有di-du-web？

・Bits of rewatch things. LTR 2-19: wow, I didn’t remember there being that much concentrated Liu Sang whump. Oh my. Poor sweetie. And the way everyone around him reacts differently: Hei Xiazi makes dumb jokes, Xiao Bai is desperate to protect him, Xiaoge seems out of his depth and focuses on doing the things he can do, Pangzi is protective and kind in his own way, and Wu Xie is both agonized at having to do this to Liu Sang and also ruthless enough to let him do it to himself.
Guardian 1: aw, Li Qian calls Lu Ruomei “Meizi.” Poor fridged Lu Ruomei, and poor Li Qian.
I kind of want fic related to both these things now. Most of the LTR Liu Sang fic seems to be either shippy or hurt/comfort, and that's good too!, but I want some kind of post-canon gen fic in which Wu Xie and Liu Sang and Xiao Bai, and maybe Huo Daofu, work out some of the themes of innocence and deceit and (mostly non-romantic) love and ruthlessness and sacrifice (self- and other) that keep coming up. Maybe a little much to ask?
W/r/t Guardian, I don't think I've ever seen a fix-it fic that focuses on Lu Ruomei but now I kind of want one: Li Qian/Lu Ruomei? Li Qian and Lu Ruomei and Jiajia (and poor Xiao Quan as 黑一点?) as an unstoppable student alliance?

・I've been looking at the Tanabata streamers which are up everywhere, people making wishes. Along with the general ones for world peace, end of corona, etc. (from their pens to God's ears), some of the more individual ones are as below (quoted with respect, no invasion of privacy meant).

I used to be heavily involved in the rockabilly scene and still listen to a lot of country music but I certainly don't expect other people to be knowledgeable about those music genres (they're both kind of trash fires 😅)

yeah, it's not that I don't enjoy both shipfic and whump! But there's so much interesting gen stuff that could be explored too. (Gen fic is hard, which doesn't help...)

I would very happily read this - I don't read much Liu Sang fic because I find him eminently unshippable (or at least not shippable with the characters fandom seems to like to ship him with), but gen explorations of difficult themes? Yes please.

They're pretty common around here in the summer and autumn! Sub-tropical weather has a few upsides (just a few).
