I think I'd turn a rapey one down flat, they don't pay me enough to consider that.
The pink ones look like hibiscus, if the spindly thingy the flowers grow on (omg no words today) wasn't different... I thought so too--agree the stem is different, and also hibiscus have that thing where they stick their tongues out at you. Helpful commenters above tell me these are hollyhocks.
