Love the idea of persimmon windfalls! Maybe I'll try growing some on my balcony next year? Although my track record is not that great. Somebody I was reading...maybe Annia Ciezadlo's book about food and the Middle East...? mentioned Midwestern persimmon pudding in passing, I think, which sounds very good.
