There was a persimmon tree across the street from my old office building (a huge, old one--the kind with the little round ones) and I would harvest a handful on fall afternoons to eat with my lunch 😄 I just ate them plain, but they were very different than the ones I've seen in stores so idk. I agree the store-bought ones I've tried aren't as good.
