Come to find out that (I think) in Taiwan 胡桃 is pecan and 核桃 is walnut, while on the mainland 胡桃 is walnut and 山核桃 is pecan…give me strength!
Hilariously, my pop-up Chinese translator add-on says 胡桃 is walnut, 核桃 is also walnut, and 山核桃 is hickory! Which is not, as far as I know, a pecan. (Right? Pecans grow on... pecan trees? I think?) *headdesk*
Going through the concerto without stopping felt like setting off on a life-or-death adventure, exciting, knife-edge, important, heartwrenching
Gosh, yes, the first run-through of terror! I miss that excitement. Which I suppose means I need to start playing music with other people again.
